President Buhari Inaugurates Minimum Wage Committee

The President inaugurated the Tripartite National Minimum Wage committee at the Council Chambers in Abuja.

The committee’s objective is to hold discussions and make recommendations regarding national minimum wage for workers in the country.

Members of the committee include SGF, Mr. Boss Mustapha; APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun; Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari; Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita; Chairman of the Committee and Former Minister of Works, Housing and Urban Development, Ms. Ammal Pepple; Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige; Secretary of the Committee, Mr Richard Egbule; Imo State Governor, Owelle Rocharles Okorocha and Kebbi State Governor, Sen Atiku Bagudu.

President Buhari Meets with Nigerian Governors’ Forum

The President met with members of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum at the State House in Abuja.

The Vice President was in attendance as well as governors of Lagos, Nassarawa, Niger, Oyo, Ondo, Borno, Kaduna and Kano states.

Other government officials at the Forum include SGF Mr. Boss Mustapha; Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari; Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun; Minister of Budget and National Planning, Sen Udoma Udo Udoma and CBN Governor Mr. Godwin Emefiele.

The President urged the Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun; Minister of Budget and National Planning, Sen Udoma Udo Udoma and CBN Governor Mr. Godwin Emefiele to begin discussions regarding payment of Paris and London outstanding refunds before end of 2017.

The President also urged governors in the Federation to pay up any outstanding salaries owed to workers in their respective states.

President Buhari Set To Attend Summit

The President will attend the 5th  European Union-African Union (EU-AU) Summit in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire for the 28th and 29th of November 2017.

Various ministers, governors and government officials will be accompanying him to the summit. Further details will be provided tomorrow.

VP Osinbajo Presides over Business Forum

The Vice President chaired the Presidential Quarterly Business Forum at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The Forum involves various government and private sector stakeholders and is hosted by the Economic Management Team. Its focus today, was on the agricultural sector in the country.

President Buhari Pays Chibok Girls’ School Fees

The President approved the payment of the 2nd semester school fees for 106 Chibok girls who were rescued and are currently studying at the American University of Nigeria (AUN) in Yola, Adamawa state.

This is in line with the administration’s commitment to providing full payment of the girls’ school fees till their graduation, even after being handed over to their parents.

The girls were enrolled into AUN on September 2017 and the total payment approved for their 2ndsemester school fees are N164,763,759.
