President Buhari Launches Action Plan Against Extremism

 The President, today, launched the Nigeria’s Policy Framework and National Action Plan for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism at the Council Chambers, State House in Abuja.

The Action Plan is aimed at preventing extremism, strengthening rule of law, building respect for human rights, community engagement and providing adequate communication links for various counter-terrorism programs.

The launch was attended by the SGF Boss Mustapha; NSA Major General Babagana Monguno; Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami; Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh; Minister of State, Hon. Heineken Lokpobiri; Minister of Budget and National Planning, Sen Udoma Udo Udoma; Minister of State Budget and National Planning, Aisha Abubakar; Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu and other Cabinet members and service Chiefs.

The President met with Governors of Adamawa and Borno states, Minister of Youth and Sports and Comptroller-General of Immigration at the Presidential Villa in Abuja before travelling to Abidjan for the EU-AU Summit.

President Buhari Arrives Abidjan for EU-AU Summit

The President has landed in Abidjan for the 5th European Union/African Union (EU-AU) Summit.

The theme of the summit is, “Investing in Youth for Accelerated Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development.”

President Buhari’s presence at the summit is aimed at boosting Nigeria’s economic relationship with countries of Europe and Africa while working hand in hand with them to enhance and sustain national and global peace.

The President was accompanied by Governor of Bauchi state, Mohammed A. Abubakar; Governor of Akwa-Ibom state, Udom Gabriel Emmanuel; National leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other senior government officials.

The President will equally attend a luncheon with the president of Cote d’Ivoire
