President Bola Tinubu congratulates Mr. Folorunsho Coker, his former aide and immediate-past Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism and Development Authority, on his 60th birthday on July 27, 2025.

Coker was President Tinubu’s assistant when he was governor of Lagos State. He later rose to serve the state in various capacities, including Deputy Chief of Staff, CEO of Lagos Number Plate Production Authority, Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business District, and Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture.

President Tinubu notes Coker’s contributions to Lagos State, particularly how he helped establish a tourism roadmap aimed at curating the story of Lagos through the ‘ONE LAGOS’ brand.

Folly Coker, his more popular name, demonstrated his mastery of the arts and tourism landscape in Lagos and as DG of NTDA, wherein he leveraged his experience to enhance domestic tourism in the country and promote its diverse multi-cultural heritage.

The President also highlights Coker’s commitment to developing traditional institutions in Lagos and within the Yoruba race, for which he was conferred the chieftaincy title of Babaeto of Yorubaland.

Reflecting on his association with Coker, President Tinubu remarks: “His love for arts, culture, and tradition is unmatched. His life and career revolve around this important sector, which has defined him and his essence today.”

The President wishes Coker good health and more years of impact.
