The President landed in Lafia, Nasarawa state to launch the Community Health Influencers, Promoters and Services (CHIPS).

He also commissioned the Comprehensive Special School, the Model Primary Health Centre. and the Ta’al Model e-Library in the state.

PEBEC Approves National Action Plan

The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) approved its 60-day National Action Plan which begins today from 5 February – 5 April, 2018.

The action plan is to enhance the ease of doing business initiative of the Buhari presidency.

The President signed Instruments of Ratification of bilateral air services agreements between Nigeria and Algeria, Dr. Congo, China, Qatar and Singapore.

President Buhari Meets With High Commissioner

President Buhari received the outgoing South African High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Lulu Loius Mnguni at the State House in Abuja.

During the meeting, the President spoke on the sacrifices Nigeria made during the apartheid in South Africa, adding that he will continue to strengthen economic ties with the country.

President Buhari Renames Ebonyi’s Federal University

President Buhari has renamed the Federal University in Ndufu-Alike Ikwo, Ebonyi State to The Alex Ekwueme Federal University. The announcement was made by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, who attended the final burial ceremony of the Late Dr. Alex Ekwueme, former Vice President of Nigeria between 1972-1983.

President Buhari Set To Launch Health Program

President Buhari will officially flag-off the Community Health Influencers, Promoters and Services (CHIPS) Programme on February 6, 2018 at the Kwandare Health Facility in Lafia, Nassarawa State. The programme is set up by The Federal Ministry of Health in conjunction with the Nigerian Primary Healthcare Agency (NPHCDA).

President Buhari Nominates Mr. Adamu For Central Bank

The President has nominated Mr. Edward L. Adamu to the Nigerian Senate for the position of Deputy Governor at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Mr. Adamu, who has spent 25 years in the establishment, began his career at CBN in 2012 as the Director of Strategy and later became Director, HR in 2016.

Mr. Adamu, who is from Gombe state, is expected to replace Mr. Sulaiman Barau who retired in December 2017.

President Buhari Presides Over FEC Meeting

The President presided over FEC meeting today at the State House in Abuja.

From the meeting, it was deduced that a total of 66 project approvals have been made by the Federal Executive Council since 2015.

These projects consist of road and housing projects; electricity projects such as Afam 240MW and Mambilla 3,050MW; Windmill; TCN projects and so on.

The council have noted the economic impact of these projects to be highly significant as they would create job opportunities at the initial stage then lead to economic growth in the long term

President Buhari Sympathises With Kano Market Traders

The President expressed his condolences to the market traders of Yan Kifi market in Kano state who suffered significant losses in properties, shops, products, containers.

The President, speaking on the incident, mentioned the economic disadvantage the incident has placed the victims in; adding that he feels their pains with immense empathy.

He shared his prayers for the people of Kano state that their losses be replaced with even greater blessings.

The Vice President commissioned the new permanent office building of the African Development Bank (AfDB), on behalf of President Buhari, in Abuja.

The President presided over FEC meeting today in Abuja.

At the meeting, FEC approved a memo by the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing for the distribution of an extra 2000MW of electricity to the populace through a policy framework between the Federal Government and Discos.
